We are once again launching a donation drive for the school in Goudem, Senegal – and we appreciate every bit of support!
Over the past few years, we’ve achieved a lot together as a support association: Thanks to generous donations, a small primary school has grown into a facility with multiple classrooms. This expansion has made it possible to offer lower secondary education locally. More and more parents in the village now recognize the value of education and regularly send their children to school – a big step forward for the entire community.
During our most recent visit in April 2025, we noticed that the school has little to no sports equipment. Physical education currently takes place on an open field across from the school. But sports are just as essential as other academics – promoting health, teamwork, and personal development.
What is needed?
School bags – new or gently used, ideally filled with:
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Notebooks, pens & school supplies
- Sports shoes or clothing (children’s sizes)
Sports equipment
- Gym mats (small & large)
- Exercise balls
- jump robes
- Hula hoops
- Balance cushions or boards
- Resistance bands / fitness bands
- Medicine balls
Monetary donations
We also welcome financial support to cover:
- Container shipping costs: approx. €1,500
- New school materials: approx. €500
Every contribution helps – whether material or financial. Together, we can provide the children of Goudem with better learning and development opportunities.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of so many people, we have collected:
140 schoolbags filled with school supplies
50 pairs of sports shoes
30 balls (volleyballs, footballs, basketballs)
4 pieces of sports equipment
5 sports mats
Pencils, drawing sets, and other school supplies
One primary school class even baked cakes and cookies and sold them to raise funds for the supplies – a gesture that deeply touched us.
Until now, sports at the school meant little more than running in the open field. With your help, the children now have proper sports equipment – allowing them to enjoy gymnastics, volleyball, handball, football, basketball, and much more. Sports are just as important as education: they promote health, teamwork, and confidence, giving every child the chance to grow beyond the classroom.
In total, we packed 55 cartons, which are now on their way to the container, scheduled to be shipped by mid to late October. I plan to be at the school myself when the goods arrive – a moment I am really looking forward to.
To everyone who contributed, shared, or supported this project: you have truly changed the lives of children. What may seem small to us – a bag, a pair of shoes, or a pencil – is a big step toward a brighter future for a child. 🌟
