Our Story<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>

It All Started with a School Backpack<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

Sometimes the smallest gestures can change the lives of many people.<\/p>

For us, it was a used school backpack.<\/p>

Filled with notebooks, pencils and learning materials, it was meant to make one child's school day a little easier. At first, that was all it was no business plan, no strategy, no foundation.<\/p>

Just the belief that every child has the right to an education.<\/strong><\/p>

From this single gesture, a movement began.<\/p>

Families donated school supplies, schools became involved, companies offered their support, and more and more volunteers wanted to help.<\/p>

An idea became a community.<\/strong><\/p>

Together with seven founding supporters who shared our vision from the very beginning, we founded the Carez Foundation<\/strong>People from Bad Vilbel and Mainz believed in our vision and helped lay the foundation for what the Carez Foundation has become today.<\/p>

Since then, we have been united by one common goal:<\/p>

To give children real opportunities for the future through education.<\/strong><\/p>

Who we are<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>

Behind the Carez Foundation are people who believe that sustainable development begins with education.<\/p>

Rubini and Oumar Gueye serve as the Foundation's<\/strong> Board of Directors.<\/p>

Oumar leads our projects in Senegal. Working closely with our partner school, local authorities and the village community, he ensures that our projects address the needs that matter most.<\/p>

Rubini leads the Foundation\u00b4s strategic development, partnerships and public relations. She connects companies, schools, foundations and public institutions with our missions<\/p>

We are united by one simple belief:<\/p>

Education creates opportunities. Opportunities create the future.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

Our Commitment to Goudem<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>

Our work is centred on the village Goudem<\/strong> in the Municipality of Djilor<\/strong> in Senegal<\/p>

Together with our partner school and the local community, we are creating better learning conditions through long-term partnerships built on mutual trust and respect.<\/p>

We invest in school buildings, learning materials, sanitation facilities, sports and educational programmes, as well as projects that open new opportunities for children and young people.<\/p>

Because a school is more than a place to learn.<\/p>

It is the heart of a community. When conditions improve at school, children, families and the entire village benefit.<\/p>

For this reason, we do not measure our success by buildings or numbers, but by people: the confidence children gain, the trust of families and the opportunities that grow from them.<\/p>

One of the most encouraging developments is that more and more families now see education especially for girls as the key to a better future.<\/p>

That is where lasting change begins.<\/strong><\/p>

The Next Step<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>

The experience we have gained in Goudem shows what is possible when trust is combined with long-term commitment.<\/p>

During a visit to Germany, the Mayor of the Municipality of Djilor experienced our work firsthand. His conclusion was simple:<\/p>

Our approach should grow.<\/strong><\/p>

He invited the Carez Foundation to work together on developing opportunities for all 27 public schools<\/strong> across the municipality.<\/p>

For us, this is far more than expansion.<\/p>

It is a sign of trust and an opportunity to extend sustainable educational development across an entire region.<\/p>

We will take this journey one step at a time, together with strong partners and the people on the ground.<\/p>

Our goal is not to implement as many projects as possible, but to create the greatest possible lasting impact.<\/p>

We do not simply build schools.<\/p>

We create educational opportunities.<\/strong><\/p>

For children.<\/p>

For families.<\/p>

For entire communities.<\/p>
